Nobody at my game straddles. Should I straddle?

I have a question. If a player would for instant raise 100% of the range on the button against a GTO player that opens UTG the mistake the GTO player makes is to ‘act’ as if this would be a stronger range and it might fold too often but what I understand the profit comes from the hands that are being called by the GTO player, playing against a weaker range when it calls and after the call it also assumes that the range is limited to the gto-range it assumes which might be an error but the profit comes from the mistakes made by the other player. Is this correct? If we would for instance play 2000+ big blinds deep and I would try to win from the gto bot and let’s say I open with 72o and the gto bot reraises with AA and I would call with 27o and the flop comes 222. Would the gto bot call a 2000 big blind front shove because it assumes to be against KK and never against a 2? Even with 20.000 big blinds?

Also, I assume some of those raises are bluff raises correct? Most preflop charts use A5 as a bluff not a value raise.

I'm confused. For RFI why would you "sometimes" do something. Based on what information? Flipping a coin? I don't see the value of randomizing is it to balance?

This is all wrong. The "long run" is consisting of millions of individual hands which we all agree are largely luck. I have been playing for years; the number of bad beats and suck outs are F-ing incredible. No matter how well or shitty you play, anything can happen. This F game is 80% luck. The best hand is always a 100% luck, the winning hand could be different but again, I don't care how well you play, you will lose a large portion of the time. Sure, you can study theory, betting strategies and it counts for about 20% of the equation, that but the fact remains; you are at the mercy of the cards. Anyone who tells you different is lying. Look at the "winners"; they lost half of their hands all the time. "Picking" the right game (meaning looking for suckers) is what they say we need to do but if you need worse players to win, that isn't a pure skill game in the sense of knowledge of the game. I don't care what the GTO says; we are human and cannot play perfectly. There fore luck plays an insanely huge factor. If you want a truly skill game, go play chess. There is a reason they call poker gambling.

Cool video, just popping in now. For me I like to think about pot odds and build bet sizes around that. If I am ahead, but need protection on a connected board I will over bet for EV to charge draws from staying in the pot above their profitable EV. If they fold, you win, if they continue, they made a negative EV play. If I think I am ahead but have a dry board, I can bet smaller for value as a better means of positive EV. If I have a draw heavy hand, I am polarized to bluff, call down, or fold depending on my opponent and board texture.

Do you have a simplified version of the ranges in the app for the straddle ranges? Not rGTO kind of speak? Also, what rake did you use for the ranges? Are these useful for online games or they are meant for live games?

@ThePokerBank - why did you bet only $33 into the $168 pot on the flop with you AcJs hand @10:10? I saw you were betting close to 50% pot most of the time and thought you'd come out with $75-$80 as a value bet. Is it because there was a $40 short stack as well in there or something else?

One of the worst poker vids i've seen

The way I see it, if you stop fearing the ace on the flop while you have pocket kings, that is a sign you are properly bankroll to play at the stakes you are playing when it comes to cash games. I tend to strike fear into opponents who could have an ace but aren't willing to call with that Ax against my kings. It boils down to how you play those kings.

I learned to pay attention to bet sizes from others vs what cards the end up showing

Live games around me are much looser than what the solver says or Vegas. The SB may be raising 10-15% but the others are calling with the same ranges (and 3-betting JJ+ AQ+)...many will be flatting JTs, pocket 4's many suited A, etc. If there are just limpers, usually if the Button Straddle then raises, they don't get a lot of respect and squeezes may get it down to HU or 3-way, but it is not uncommon for it still to be 4-5 way action. It also matters what the SB made it....if Straddle was 6 and they just made it 15 that really isn't any bigger than the common open in our 1-3 games. If they made it 26 then it usually will get respect. Also note there is a max 3 raises (over the blinds or straddle) so that does effect the action at times and makes raise sizes more important since someone could "4-Bet" and close the action for the minimum i.e. straddle 6, raise to 15, raise to 35 from Straddle, then someone could cap the action at 55 and you end up with 4 folks in for 55 (220 pot) with a wide range. If you are the Straddle and choose to squeeze/3-Bet it needs to be sizable to prevent this type of cap move for multiway.
